Evgeny Novikov

Founder of “Suņu apmācība skola” and “181 Suns”
Evgeny Novikov’s professional career has been closely connected to cynology: dog and owner training, as well as the preparation of specialists for more than twenty years.
Since 1995, he served in the State Police of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia. From 2003 to 2015, he held positions directly related to service cynology: he participated in operational work involving service dogs, trained police cynologists and their four-legged partners (service dogs). He completed his service with the rank of police major, heading the Cynology Department of the State Police College, and retired after years of service. Work in professional cynology provided the opportunity to attend and gain experience from numerous specialized seminars, courses, and training events both in Latvia and in other European Union countries, which broadened his perspective and raised his professional competence to a high level.
In parallel with his service, with official permission, in the status of a self-employed person, Evgeny developed private practice and maintained a training ground on Krasta Street near the Southern Bridge in Riga, where he conducted individual sessions with dog owners. This ground also hosted international seminars for owners of sport dogs, which included practical training sessions. These events featured leading global specialists and champions in cynological sports who had achieved the highest results at the international level.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, the ground was closed, and the main focus shifted to on-site training directly at clients’ locations. This approach proved to be the most effective, as it takes into account the everyday conditions in which a dog lives.
Based on his accumulated experience, two companies were founded:
- Suņu apmācība skola — a specialized company focused on dog training and owner consultation, with an emphasis on a personalized approach.
- 181 Suns — a project that brings together professional services and modern solutions for working with dogs.
The uniqueness of Evgeny Novikov’s methodology lies in an individual approach to each situation. Training is based on the family’s lifestyle, the dog’s living conditions, walking routines, and the surrounding environment. This ensures the creation of an effective training system and stable, long-term results.
The continuous accumulation of experience and the improvement of his own methods are confirmed by successful training outcomes and the trust of numerous clients.
